rker, 64, of Harviell, went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
He was born on March 31, 1952 to Marion and Stella (Harris) Barker in Poplar Bluff. He graduated from Neelyville High School in 1970. Thomas retired from Gates Rubber Company. After he retired he worked in maintenance for Advanced Health Care. On May 15, 1971 he married Carylon Gill in Harviell, MO.
He was a member and deacon at Harviell First Baptist Church. Thomas enjoyed working on his tractors, tinkering in his shop, and hunting deer and wild hogs. He will always be known for helping others and being available for his family and friends. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren.
Thomas is survived by his loving spouse of 45 years, Carylon; two sons, Thomas (Shanna) Barker of Harviell, MO and Marlin (Angela) Barker of Poplar Bluff, MO; seven grandchildren, Blake Dietz, Broderick Barker, Christopher Barker, Ciara Barker, Alyssa Barker, Bethany Barker, Laney Barker; two great-grandchildren, Laili Dietz and Max Doerr; five sisters, Adele Uhl, Luella Luther, Dolly Clayton, Margie Barker, Sara Knox; and two brothers, Edward Barker and Ross Barker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Virgil Barker and Kenneth Barker; and one sister, Sweety Bell Buhler.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5, 2016, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Moore Funeral Service, Poplar Bluff, MO.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016, 10:00 am at the Moore Funeral Service Chapel, Poplar Bluff, MO. Burial will take place in Cochran Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Harviell First Baptist Church.
The family will be having a meal at the funeral home on Monday after the funeral. If you would like to bring food please deliver by Monday morning.
