He was born on November 5, 1949 to James and Minnie (Buchanan) Barton in Poplar Bluff, MO. James worked as an independent car salesman.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
James is survived by two daughters, Ashlee Meyer of Piedmont, MO and Laura Cavaness of Wappapello, MO; four grandchildren, Destiny Meyer and Macayla Meyer of Piedmont, MO, Leah Henson of Greenville, MO, and Jeromy Fugate of Poplar Bluff, MO; two brothers, Terry Barton of Poplar Bluff, MO and Steve Barton of Andrews, TX; one niece, Harley Barton of Poplar Bluff, MO; and one nephew, Elijah Barton of Andrews, TX; .
He was preceded in death by father.
Family will hold a private service at a later date. Memorial are suggested to the family and can be left with the funeral home.
