Wilma
Louise “Billie” Orton Faries, 85, of Williamsville, MO, passed away on August 9, 2016 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.
She was born March 10, 1931 to Travis Guy, Sr. and Wilma Louise (Lane) Orton in Fort Smith. She graduated from Little Rock Senior High in 1948. She married James Faries of Williamsville, MO on August 1, 1953 in Little Rock.
Billie received her nursing degree from Arkansas Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. Her career ranged from being a nurse at The VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff; The University of Tennessee in Memphis; private duty in Fayetteville, and toward the end of her career in Doniphan, MO. Most of her life was dedicated to raising her children, and helping her husband through medical school and his military career.
Billie is survived by her loving spouse of 63 years, James; her four children; Paula (Ralph) Muzny of Williamsville, MO; Jamie (Marty) Strasser of Centennial, CO; Cindy (John) Hamm of Batesville, IN; and Joe (Laurie) Faries of Williamsville, MO; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Syd (Linda) Orton of Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Bobby; Travis Guy "Buddy", Jr; and Donald Orton.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the Williamsville United Methodist Church with Reverend Jason Littles officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Williamsville United Methodist Church.
